Behaviour Support Services Sleep Workshop – An Evidence-Based Behavioural Approach to Sleep
This parent involvement workshop through KidsAbility Behaviour Support Services offers a 4-week focused learning of important strategies to influence healthy sleep. Your family will be supported to identify specific barriers to healthy sleep habits, and develop individualized strategies to achieve your sleep goals.
Group-format workshop learning will include:
Overview of the benefits of healthy sleep in children
Strategies for addressing common sleep problems such as difficulty falling or staying asleep
Developing a sleep hygiene routine
Addressing behaviours that interfere with sleep using strategies rooted in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
Following the initial learning workshop, an Instructor Therapist under the supervision of a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) will work alongside your family to review your sleep assessment and develop an evidence-based approach to build healthy sleep habits. Over the following two weeks, therapists will support your family to apply your workshop learning and implement the recommended strategies during individual consultation meetings.
Families will receive a summary of recommendations outlining the strategies developed throughout consultation to continue to apply your learning. By registering for this workshop, you are committing to attending all session dates.
