Treatment Planning for children aged 0-9 years, involves an in-depth caregiver interview and direct child observation and assessment. This will allow us to get to know your family, identify priority goals, discuss opportunities to individualize therapy based on your child's profile, and make clinical recommendations for service. Our goal is to truly understand the strengths and needs for your child and family. We understand that you know your child best, and with our support we will work with you to provide an objective view of the skills and developmental areas that may be important to your child's learning.
Treatment Planning includes a written report outlining recommendations for therapy made by one of our Board Certified Behaviour Analysts, which will be reviewed with your family. This document will include brief strategies based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), and will outline areas of strengths, needs and behaviour barriers.
Treatment Planning is required to access Firefly Behavioural Support services (not respite or recreational services) and recommendations are valid for up to one year.
Once you register and complete payment, we will contact you to schedule your Treatment Planning appointment. We look forward to getting to know you and your child!
Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Benefit plans vary so be sure to inquire about the need for a physician’s referral, amount of coverage, deductible, coverage per session, and if your plan covers out-of-network providers.
As of September, 2012, counselling services provided by Registered Social workers (RSW) can be claimed as a medical expense tax deduction when you file your income tax return.
